Production Operative

Job Description

As a Production Operator at Aquaspira, you will play a crucial role within our manufacturing team. Reporting directly to the Factory Supervisor and taking instructions from Team Leads, you will be engaged in a rotating double-shift role. The normal shift hours alternate between 06:00-14:30 in the first week and 14:00-22:30 in the following week. This “hands-on” position involves actively participating in the manufacturing crew, with the core purpose of producing and assembling composite reinforced pipes and their components. Production Operators are included within the manufacturing skills matrix system and can achieve progress by learning the required skills for each key area.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Adhere to Company standards for safety, quality, and general conduct.
  • Operate Winding, Extrusion, Table Welding, and Butt Welding Machines.
  • Fit and plastic weld components in final assembly.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Company Standards.

Material Handling and Preparation

  • Move materials across the site efficiently.
  • Utilise small tools for cutting, grinding, buffing, and modifying HDPE/Steel materials.
  • Clean, apply rubbers, and attach creep bands onto Finished Pipe.
  • Manage movement, cutting, and preparation of scrap – deciding whether to discard or recycle.

Production Support

  • Cover back-end extrusion during component runs.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads and production operatives to meet business requirements.
  • Achieve specific daily production targets as communicated by Team Leads

Technology Utilisation

  • Record data and quality metrics using Touch Screen Tablet Technology.

Housekeeping

  • Conduct cleaning, sweeping, clearing, and housekeeping tasks across the site.

Required Skills

Flexibility and Adaptability

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to varying tasks within your capability.

Technical Proficiency

  • Operate machinery and tools, including grinders/cutting and hand welding extrusion guns, with precision.

Compliance and Procedural Adherence

  • Strictly adhere to internal procedures and processes.

Positive Attitude

  • Exhibit a “Can do” attitude, supporting multiple production areas when required.

This role demands reliability in timekeeping and attendance, a continuous “Safety First” mindset, and the ability to achieve production output at the required quality standards. Follow instructions from Team Leads diligently to contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.
